Wrist pain and discomfort can make everyday tasks difficult, but with a wide range of treatments available, you don’t have to suffer in silence.

Wrist pain is a common ailment and can cause every day discomfort. People with wrist pain can experience problems caused by trauma, medical conditions or injuries such as aches, pains and swelling.

What are the causes of wrist pain?

Sprains or fractures are the most common form of wrist pain. It can also result from long-term problems, such as repetitive stress, arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome.

How can wrist pain be treated?

Treatments for wrist pain depend on the underlying cause. Many cases of wrist pain will go away in time and can be managed with a wrist brace or splint, hot or cold compresses and over-the-counter painkillers. However, if pain is ongoing you should see your GP who may refer you for treatment or surgery.
