Vasileios Kavouriadis
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon
Mr. Vasileios Kavouriadis graduated with a medical degree from the National and Kapodistrian University in Athens, Greece, in 1995. Since then, he has obtained specialist certificates in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery from the University of Athens.
After completing his training at several major Orthopaedic and Trauma units in Athens, and spending six months as a trainee at Charité University Hospital in Berlin through Humboldt University, he became an Orthopaedic and Trauma Consultant in 2005. His training focused on Joint Replacement Surgery and Arthroscopy.
In 2005, Mr. Kavouriadis began working as a Trauma and Orthopaedic Fellow at Queen’s Hospital in Burton on Trent. He then moved to Paisley, Scotland, where he worked as a full-time Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Royal Alexandra Hospital from 2007 to 2011. Following this, he moved to the Manchester NHS Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service, where he taught nurses and physiotherapists while also performing surgical procedures as a part-time consultant at the Eccleshill and Shepton Mallet Treatment Centres. He now works at LCATS as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon.
Mr. Kavouriadis has a strong interest in lean techniques within the health service, effective resource usage, and efficient health service processes and pathways. He is also interested in the role of Artificial Intelligence in health services.
In addition to his medical qualifications, he has acquired a Master of Business Administration from the Manchester Business School and a Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Law in Manchester. He is currently completing an MSc in Computer Science at the University of York.
