Meet the team

Liz Ambler joined Practice Plus Group Portsmouth as Hospital Director in January 2023 having spent her entire career in healthcare, public health and social care, including holding a number of senior leadership roles including Executive Director at BMI and Regional Operations Director for the British Pregnancy Advisory Service.

Liz qualified as a nurse in 1995 and went on to work in oncology, haematology and bone marrow transplantation in London and around the world. She has worked in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, volunteered as a blood safety volunteer in Liberia, and as a Director of Nursing and Quality in a very challenged healthcare system in the Maldives.

Back in the UK Liz held a range of senior leadership roles across a range of organisations including supporting adults and children with learning disabilities and/or autism, adults services, children’s services and education settings.

Having grown up in Portsmouth, she is delighted to have returned ‘home’ 30 years later, and to be leading the team in Portsmouth- a stone’s throw from the hospital she was born in!

Charlotte joined the team at St Mary’s in 2007 and undertook a number of roles before becoming our Patient Services Diagnostic Administration Supervisor in 2016.

She manages a team of 8 people and their main duties include keeping referrals within KPIs, sending reports to GPs and ensuring the smooth running of the diagnostic service for patients booking appointments.

Charlotte enjoys the challenges of running the administration side of the diagnostic imaging department. She’s passionate about getting patients booked in within a timely manner and making sure all patients leave happy after their appointments.

Tracey joined Practice Plus Group (then Care UK) in November 2014 as the Diagnostic Imaging Manager for Practice Plus Group Surgical Centre, St Mary’s Portsmouth
and Practice Plus Group Diagnostics, Havant.

Tracey qualified as a Diagnostic Radiographer in Portsmouth and has worked in various settings including both NHS and Private Healthcare, as well as Mobile MRI units.
Prior to this Tracey worked in industry carrying out various management roles in both training and sales.

Her current responsibilities include working alongside the Lead Nurse for Practice Plus Group Urgent Treatment Centre, St Mary’s Portsmouth, ensuring the smooth running of the patient journey, safe clinical patient services and making sure clinical protocols are adhered to at all times.
